Final After Effects Project

Our final projects objective was to animate forms in After Effect to music. My music selection was funk music. My intent was to create a funky universe that responded to the music in an appropriate manner (considering funk music). I wanted to create a space that was three dimensional and was able to relate to objects flying though the space. I used the a wide array of colors but wanted to keep the tone red to give the feeling of the universe being alert andproviding a warmer space compared to blues and greens. I think the project is successful, I think it introduces a universe that reacts to the music. This is the first attempt at After Effects and this project has really opened my mind to future ideas or continuing ones.

This is one of my first animations. The problem was to create a shape morph it to another shape and then morph it back to the original shape.

This is the third installment the master shape must be developed into a sort of character.I chose this color concept because of it's vibrant nature for things up close. I wanted it to have the effect of the creatures flying around you and i think it does that. The monochromatic setup provides a large area of depth for the viewer. The shapes have been given life!

This is a more abstract version of the third panel, it doesn't quite work for the assignment but looks cool.... right?

This is the second panel we introduce siblings or children of the main object that might relate to the parent object. Negative space creates foreground or background and causes us to find new and interesting shapes, While relating to the subject matter. Beginning to see a character development.
First initial panel that introduces the character shape that is carefully places to create an ultimate dramatic experience.

This is the forth and final panel. The idea is to create the character and put it in an environment. Since the character is rather sinister along with his offspring, I chose crimson red tones and dark murky reds with black. I then used a complimentary aqua to emphasize the supernatural.
Use of size and focus puts us close to the characters but not too close to the main nemesis.
